Conversation Starters.

Hey Blogging World,

I'm not particularly fond of the title for Wednesday, "What the?! Wednesday". It just doesn't have any zing for me any more. I was more thinking Witty Wednesday or something still half comedic. I'm never sure if I'm actually a comedic person, especially in writing. Oh well, I'll still just write how I write, no point really in changing for the world.

I met a boy yesterday.

I was sitting on the bus minding my own business, thinking my own thoughts, when about seven seats down a teenage boy sitting with his carer/friend waves to me. "Hello!" He says. I say hello back and he begins asking me questions; what school I go to,  how much work I have to do, what stop I'm getting off at. He asks me if I have a boyfriend, I will admit I get a bit worried as I say no to which he tells me he has a girlfriend, "lucky," I say. He then asks if when I get off am I able to shake his hand. "Of course I can!" I reply. And so I do, he wishes me fun with my work and I thank him for the chat and hop off the bus with the biggest smile on my face. That boy made my day and if I ever see him again I'll be sure to tell him that.

It got me thinking, why can't all boys be like that?! It was so simple to have a conversation with this boy I had never met and he was more than happy to talk to me, asking all the questions and seeming genuinely interested. Why can't all the good looking boys I've seen over the years on the bus have the guts to do the same thing? This boy's brain most likely worked in a different to manner to everyone else on that bus, yelling across seats to have a conversation with someone is quite normal in his mind. We find it strange, different, amusing. But why can't it be normal? He left me feeling so happy being able to have a pleasant chat with a stranger, learning about someone else and having someone want to learn and know about you. People like him see the good in people, they see the opportunity in every experience they have, even if it is in the simplest forms such as a bus trip. I respect those people for having more guts than most of us. He could really teach males a thing or two, should have already knew he had a girlfriend the way he could strike up a conversation with the ladies so quickly.

See how this has turned from really trying to be a little comedic to something so insightful, well I hope it's a little insightful. Or perhaps it's just a pointless post. Too bad no day of the week starts with P, I could have had Pointless Pednesday. Haha, alright. Wednesday is now Pednesday because that in itself is funny enough which means my post no longer have to be so forced funny. Pointless Pednesday it is. Oh and happy 102nd post, thinking I might just celebrate every post after the 100th now to make up for the lack of celebration on the 100th post.

Take Your Pic Tuesday on Thursday

Hey Blogging World,

I promised you I would catch up, so I am. I also promised you a splendid 101st post so here goes nothing, I've got Montaigne in my ears and I'm on a mission.

I went to Falls Festival for the first time this year and it confirmed all my dreams - I want to live in a music festival forever. The three days were an escape from reality, filled with so many beautiful moments, too many to write. There would be times I'd be dancing and singing with complete strangers and think to myself, this is life. This is what living is. You'd think I was exaggerating here but I'm not. I'd be in bed around 3am, well 5:30am one morning and up by 8am. No voice, headaches, cough and runny nose, blistering heat. But nothing, no nothing, could ruin the best last three days of 2015 for me.

This photo was taken during the Wombats set. The Wombats is one of those bands who I don't necessarily know every word to every song but they've been on the music bucket list of bands to go and see and they did not disappoint. It was probably one of the highlights of the whole festival that set, being so close and surrounded by thousands of adoring fans screaming the lyrics and dancing around. I even made my mate lift me on their shoulders and oh my gosh that was incredible, it was pure living my friends. Ugh there are literally no more words to describe the feeling, just living in happiness and wonder and delight.

I've said it time and time again but music takes you to another place, it makes you forget about everything going on in the world and fills with you joy. And that's what I had for three days, pure joy in my heart. I made an abundance of new friends, half of which I don't remember their names because I met too many. I would recommend the festival to everyone who is all about the atmosphere and the music. Drive along, take some good pals and listen to some sweet tunes because that is what this festival is. It's even more though, an experience and immersion of art and festival culture, and a bloody good way to finish off the year. It makes you forget about every worry you had throughout the year, there's no time for reflection because you're living in the moment. The most amazing moment.

Already Slacking Off.

Hey Blogging World,

I do actually have a legitimate excuse for not posting yesterday as I don't think I stopped for the day until my head hit the pillow and my eyes shut in a flash. I worked from 7am - 4:30pm and then came home to get ready for the circus with the family which didn't end till 10:30pm and then bam, sleep. Which was beautiful by the way. But it meant that I forgot 'Sentimental Saturday' - still not liking that name. So even though I said Sunday would be rest day it may also become the day in which I catch up on any lost posts such as this.

To be honest I'm not really feeling sentimental about much nor philosophical about anything. Life's pretty good at the moment. Well, more than pretty good, great actually. I've been a tad bored though, everyone going back to school and work has made for a quiet house and not much to do. This has resulted in a much needed clean out of the bedroom. There's been a lot of dust, rubbish and fond memories. I'm one of the world's biggest hoarders. I found three 2013 calendars underneath my bed.

And of course I began writing this and didn't even get to finish it, gosh Annalise get your gear together woman. Truth be told I'm not even too busy. Apart from cleaning out, so I shouldn't have any excuse to not be posting, however one thing has been pre-occupying me plenty. Ugly Betty. There's something so entertaining about a not too pretty girl working at a fashion magazine with all the plot twists and turns. Look all this writing about it is making me need to watch another episode.

Take your pic Tuesday will most definitely happen but for now, I'm out.

La Vie Vivante.

P.S. This is my 100th post. Yay. That is a lot of words I have written. Most longer than this post... I'm not really into celebrating this post as my big 100th so I can be a big celebrated of 101st post, now that'll be good.

Promised I'd deliver. Didn't say I'd do it well.

Today daddy and I saw a show,
As per usual we sat in the front row.
Laughing at the comics as they stumbled over their words,
And howling everytime they did something absurd.

Pizza and fries what a delight,
Ice cream half time I didn't think twice.
But now my stomach feels ill oh what have I done?
All I wanted was to have some fun...

And what a blast I had with dad by my side.
He's not too embarrassing, I don't have to hide.
The man is actually quite brilliant.
There's no other way to describe him nor word to rhyme with.

It's late and I almost forgot,
But while sitting in the car I decided I should not.
So a poem seemed the easiest way to go,
Why it has an annoying rhyme pattern I do not know.
I hope this will satisfy to all those who read.
Let's hope tomorrow will bring more help to those in need.

I'm back, if you'll have me.

Hi Blogging World,

It's been a while. And when I say a while well it's been well over a year. Oops. But I've been cleaning out my room and found all my old writings and it reminded me of the blog, so I took a peek at what I sounded like. I thought I would cringe, I thought I wouldn't be able to stand the way I wrote. But honestly, I liked most of it. I've created a voice for myself on this blog. I like that.

Last year was hectic. I completed my final year of high schooling along with holding a major leadership role and being involved in the school production. Didn't leave too much time to be writing on a blog. But it was an incredible year and brought me to this year where I am attending university, moving part time to be closer and getting ready for a fresh start at a new place. So, I think it's only fitting that I begin the blog again, I've been bored lazing around the house. I was considering starting a whole new blog but I like the name to this one and as I said, I like the voice I've created here. Sure the background might need a bit of a revamp and hopefully my writing has become a bit more sophisticated but should be the same ol' Annalise. In saying that...

I want to begin this schedule again:

MY LIFE MONDAY
Mondays will be all about me, if you don't mind. Anything going on in my life, anything interesting I have done, and I will try to keep it interesting. I want to give you an insight into my life and Mondays will help you do just that!

TAKE YOUR PIC TUESDAY
I have decided I want a lot more photos on my blog, photos taken by me. Tuesdays will be all about photos. Whether I just post up a lot and leave them for you decipher, or write the story behind them, it will be very spontaneous.

WHAT THE?! WEDNESDAY
I want to attempt to make Wednesdays my comedic post, if it will turn out that way, I'm not so sure. Anything that's out there, something wacky or never heard of, I will be writing about it.

THINK THURSDAY
Think Thursday. To be honest I have no idea what Thursdays will about, I suppose it's whatever I think of. Thursdays will be the day to write whatever pops into my head, it's where I will write anything based on people's requests, show anything that people have been telling me about, anything that the people are thinking about.

FICTION FRIDAY
Every Friday a new installment of Mia and Twig will be written on my blog. You will be able to read this on the page that says Mia and Twig. I am determined to really get into this story and hopefully you enjoy reading each short chapter every Friday. If writers block hits me on a Friday for the story, I will be posting a poem or a short story on the main page for you to enjoy.

SENTIMENTAL SATURDAY
The name is sounding a bit too soppy for my liking so it may be changed soon. Saturdays will be for a reflection basically, if there's something happening I will write about it in a way that I can hopefully relate to my readers. By Saturday I should be feeling philosophical and obtain the ability to write an inspiring post on the mystery of life. Yes, I really do think this name will need to change.

SUNDAY- REST DAY
Every young writer needs their rest day, these may have to pop up more often as the year goes on and inspiration to write based on topic dies, but I am determined to give a schedule a shot.

I will also be starting a new page Which I have entitled Music Madness where I will be completing the thirty day music challenge, only that I will do it in thirty weeks and post one throughout the week. Any new music I find, old songs that I love, my favourite playlist, I'll be writing up there for you to have a look at.

I'm determined to make it work this time. I like what I created before and it's only a matter of sticking with it now. So, expect either an instalment of Mia and Twig tomorrow (need to re-familarise myself with the story) or a short story/poem/embarrassing old writing from my notebooks. Main point, I'm back baby.

The 30 Day Challenge is back.

Hey Blogging World

So I've decided it's time for another blogging challenge as they are the only things that really give me any motivation to write. Scrolling through Google I came across the 30 Day Disney Challenge to which my friend Tash told me I just HAD to do.

I've always loved Disney, I mean who doesn't? Every time I watch a Disney film it's like revisiting childhood. All the songs and the princesses and the happy endings just thrilled me. And with Frozen this year it's perfect timing to complete the challenge, which will begin tomorrow. Hopefully.

Short blog because honestly, I couldn't be bothered writing about anything else. Now excuse me while Tash and I attempt Disney quizzes to find out if we are the ultimate Disney fans.

Late Night Pondering

Hey Blogging World

I presume (and really hope) I'm not the only person that has those nights, laying in bed thinking about every single things good or bad and end up still lying there at some crazy hour of the morning still thinking about it?

I tend to think that music will help me sleep, it usually turns into an occupational health and safety hazard. Having my headphones is fine until my eyelids begin to close and I wake up in the morning freaking out that the chord has wrapped itself around my neck, I think my mum always warned me about it when I was younger, must have turned into a fear. Or those school mornings when you wake, the music is still playing and battery is critically low and you wonder how on earth you will make it through the bus trip without your iPod. However the worst thing is waking up and believing you must have some sort of sleep disorder because your iPod has been flung across the other side of the room, but you seem to have no recollection of how it got there. Not to mention my music taste at the moment is a lot of acoustic guitar serenading me to sleep. I have been absolutely obsessed with Secondhand Serenade, only knew one of their songs (Fall For You, check it out) but just pushed on another one day and was hooked then. Their music is simple but beautiful and their lyrics are so raw they travel into you and unleash emotions you didn't know you contained. Music also helps me in pondering of course as whatever I'm pondering about, the mood of the song is chosen to fit the ponder. Funny how I know to manipulate my mood to what I would like to be.

Pondering. Well, shall we ponder about the word ponder? After all it is such a funny word to use. The dictionary definition shows:

think about (something) carefully, especially before making a decision or reaching a conclusion.

I've thought about this for some time now and can only draw to one conclusion. It made no sense to me the word ponder especially as the word has the word pond within it and I didn't know what ponds had to do with thinking. But ponds are relatively deep, not as deep as an ocean, but you would have to go a little deep or think carefully before you reached the bottom or the conclusion. That is the only thing I can think of. Otherwise ponder is just another funny word like majority of the words in the English language. At least ponder is a word that you can look at and pronounce unlike... Well I can't think of any at the moment, being awake doesn't mean my brain is functioning to its full potential.

I'm not sure if I feel comfortable using the word ponder for the rest of the post now, it's in the title though I probably should. One difficult thing to ponder then write about is the dreaded P word. No not panoramas, or pandas or playgrounds. Oh gosh I could talk about playgrounds for hours that wouldn't be hard to describe after pondering. Wait, I think I discuss playgrounds in another post. Right. Back to the dreaded P word. I really get distracted too often. P is for people. At the moment I'll say friends are going pretty well, I shouldn't jinx it but any arguments you haven't heard about but of course still worried about have been sorted so you can relax. There are people who have become a family to me and our little family has ended now, which you think would make me being the emotional person I am quite sad but there's been certain people making me oh so tired, but oh so happy this week and I hope they hang around for a while. I hope I haven't made you all too curious now, because if you are you'll be finding out nothing until perhaps my next post.

"She's going to begin posting again?!" You're thinking! Yes I would love to start blogging more often and it's going to be a huge time allowance as school is really coming first this year, I've realized I need to really start trying in order to attempt to have a lovely future. But hey, when I have a spare hour early in the morning with eyes that won't shut and nothing to do I'll be sure to jump on here because I miss you all. I know hardly any of you commented and I'm not sure if people actually read what I'm posting but I enjoy writing to a world full of people. Making new friends one anonymous reader at a time.

Signs that I should really go to sleep, I'm listening to Beyonce and Rihanna. Not that they're bad, if you like that when you're wide awake then good for you. Until next time.
